DAILY ITINERARY
11-Day Journey to the Holy Land
DAY 01 MAR 17: BEGINNING OF OUR TOUR – Depart USA for Tel Aviv, Israel.
DAY 02 MAR 18: INTO THE LAND OF THE BIBLE – Arrive in Tel Aviv where you will be met at the airport for transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Netanya.
DAY 03 MAR 19: CAESAREA/MEGIDDO/TIBERIAS – A drive north along the Mediterranean coast will take you to Caesarea built by Herod the Great. See the Roman theater and its ruins. Continue to Mt. Carmel for a visit to Elijah’s cave. Proceed to Megiddo “Armageddon”, a very important strategic point on the Via Maris connecting Egypt and Damascus. Next, you will stop at Mt. Precipice for a panoramic view of Nazareth, Cana, and the Jezreel Valley. Proceed to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04 & DAY 05 MAR 20 & 21: BIKE THE JESUS TREK- Ascend out of the old city and ride through calm pastoral fields to Zippori National Park to visit the archeological ruins of the main administrative city in the Galilee at the time of Jesus. Admire the exquisite Byzantine mosaics, drink in the view from atop the Crusader fortress. Bike the trail through the small village of Mashhad to arrive at Cana, traditional site of Jesus’ first miracle. Visit the Orthodox and Catholic churches commemorating the water to wine miracle. Continue your ride along a forest ridge with peaceful valley views. Visit a nearby ancient Roman road, part of the Via Maris that connected the Mediterranean to the Sea of Galilee. Bike across agricultural fields to ascend the Horns of Hattin– a volcanic structure where a famous Crusader battle took place. Relish your first glimpse of the Sea of Galilee and the sweeping views into Arbel Valley. Continue down the rocky hillside towards Yavniel Valley. After a pleasant descent towards the Yardenit Baptismal Site, a baptism site located along the Jordan River that is frequented by Christian pilgrims. Then have a comfortable ride along the Jordan River shore to the “Peace Island,” a site on the border between Israel and Jordan where the Yarmouk River flows into the Jordan River. Ride northward to the south shore of the Sea of Galilee. From here, climb sharply to Poriya spring and start the magnificent ride on the scenic bike trail around Sea of Galilee to Upper Tiberias. After a short ride, we start our ascent to Arbel Cliffs. Now we have stunning single-track downhill to the sea before continuing to Tabgha via rolling agricultural land. Explore the mosaics at Tabgha, the traditional site of the feeding of the 5,000. Continue around the northern side of the Sea of Galilee to visit the church of St. Peter. Finish your journey at Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry. Nazareth.
DAY 06 MAR 22: GALILEE & UPPER GALILEE – Drive to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes overlooking the Sea of Galilee and surrounding areas. Drive to the Golan Heights in Upper Galilee. Visit the sources of the Jordan River at Caesarea Philippi. A wild whitewater rafting adventure in your own private rafting kayak. Explore the most remote parts of the white waters of the Jordan River, where the natural beauty and wildlife are untouched. Tonight, you will board fishing boats and head out on the Sea of Galilee to night fish with nets. Nazareth
DAY 07 MAR 23: EIN GEDI/MASADA – Visit Wadi Qelt and view the Valley of the Shadow of Death from the high cliffs. Continue to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a shepherd boy. Visit En Gedi before continuing on a beautiful drive that takes you along the shores of the Dead Sea. Then to Masada, a desert fortress built by Herod the Great which was used as a stronghold by Jewish zealots who committed suicide rather than surrender to the Romans. Stop at the lowest point on earth and float in the healing, mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea. Dead Sea Hotel,
DAY 08 MAR 24: SALT WONDER HIKE AND REPELLING – Early morning adventure to an underground phenomena. Your adventure will start at the lowest spot on earth with a steep, uphill hike to the top of a natural salt mountain. You will see amazing views of the Dead Sea and the mountains of Jordan. Hike to a canyon, where your guide will belay each person nearly 300 feet down a gradually widening chimney made of pure salt to the cave floor. A spelunking hike begins into the depths of this huge natural salt cave. (Iran is the only other place in the world where this rare geological phenomena exits.) During this adventure you will crawl through tight spots, and see sights very few have seen. You eventually climb out of a cave by the beach of the Dead Sea. After lunch, you will have a fun afternoon of ATVing in the desert. Repel the cliffs where Jonathan and his armor bearer climbed. Camp tonight in the Judean Desert during biblical times this remote and inaccessible terrain served as a refuge for David during his flight from Saul and when his son Absalom rebelled against him (Psalm 63:1).
DAY 09 & 10 MAR 25 & 26: MOUNTAINS OF JERUSALEM/BETHLEHEM – Today takes you to the Mount of Olives with its outstanding views of the city. Visit the Chapel of Ascension, Church of Pater Noster, Church of Dominus Flavit. Spend time in quiet reflection and prayer as you visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. View the Kidron Valley. From there you will drive south to the little town of Bethlehem with a visit to the Church of Nativity. Visit The Shepherd's Fields and the Fields of Boaz and Ruth. Proceed to Herodian, Herod’s Mountain hideaway. Step into history as you enter the Old City of Jerusalem. Stroll through the colorful bazaars, picturesque neighborhoods, and narrow streets as you make your way to the temple area, where Solomon's Temple was built on Mount Moriah. Visit the Dome of the Rock enclosing the Rock of Sacrifice, the Mosque of Al Aksa, and the Pinnacle of the Temple. Enjoy lunch in the old city and take some time to shop for souvenirs, jewelry, and ancient coins. In the afternoon, you will visit the Church of Saint Anne, the Pool of Bethesda, the Lithostrotos, Pilate's Judgment Hall, Antonia Fortress, and walk on the Via Dolorosa leading you to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. After dinner, you will visit the Western Wall (the Wailing Wall), then go under the old city to visit the Western Wall Tunnels to see remnants from the days of the Second Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.You will begin at Mount Zion where we will visit the Upper Room of the Last Supper as well as the Tomb of King David and the House of Caiaphas. Visit the Garden Tomb and Gordon's Calvary, the site where Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected. A communion service will be held at the Garden Tomb. Jerusalem
DAY 11 MAR 27: TEL AVIV/USA – Transfer to Tel Aviv Airport for your return flight home

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE REGISTERING
PASSPORTS: Passports must be valid with an expiration date of at least six months beyond the return home date of the tour. Participants with non-US passports are responsible for country-specific entry requirements. If you do not have a valid passport or need to renew your passport, enter "RENEWING" or "APPLIED FOR" when completing registration.
CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to ninety days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators, and hotels. All funds, including the deposit, are non-transferable.
GROUND/TRANSFERS: The group will be met on arrival by a Signature Tours representative and transferred to the hotel/airport. Land Only participants not traveling with the group are responsible for scheduling ground transfers.
HOTELS: Superior first-class hotels throughout. Priced based on two people per room with a private bath and shower.
SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A limited number of single rooms are available at additional supplement prices. Signature Tours and/or the group leader will make every attempt to pair single participants requesting a roommate. However, the single supplement fee will be charged for each person occupying a single room, whether by choice or circumstance.
MEALS: Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Lunch is provided on days as noted in the itinerary.
SIGHTSEEING: Entrance fees to all places listed in the itinerary are included, as well as an expert English-speaking guide.
LUGGAGE: Space is limited on the tour buses. Participants are allowed one suitcase weighing 50lbs or less and will be transported in storage under the bus. Participants are allowed one backpack/daypack or personal bag to carry on the bus during the tour. These requirements will meet most airline carrier restrictions. See the carrier website for airline-specific baggage restrictions and requirements. Medical devices are not included in these restrictions.
TIPS, SERVICE CHARGES, AND TAXES: Tips, service charges, and taxes ARE INCLUDED in the selling price. Taxes, as imposed by national and/or local governments, that are not included at the time of booking are the responsibility of the participant.
NOT INCLUDED: Excess baggage fees, passport fees, visa fees, food or drink items not listed on the regular table menu for included meals, and items of a personal nature such as room service, laundry, etc. Any service not indicated in the itinerary and/or the above list of included features.
