DAILY ITINERARY
May 11 – 22, 2022
DAY 1: BEGINNING OF TOUR — Depart Atlanta for Paris, France.
DAY 2: PARIS, FRANCE — Arrive in Paris, France, and enjoy the afternoon and evening at your leisure. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
DAY 3: PARIS— Experience a morning tour of Paris, exploring life in the occupied French capital. Hear the accounts of various inhabitants of the city and visit the sites that help tell the story of the city during WWII. Begin by passing the Eiffel Tower en route to the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees, a major center of entertainment popular with the occupying forces. At the eastern end of Champs Elysees is Place de la Concorde, one of the city’s foremost public squares teeming with historic significance. Visit Jeu de Paume, a former tennis court used to stockpile confiscated art during the German occupation. Following a short walk on the Jardins des Tuileries, stop in front of Hotel Meurice, the wartime headquarters for the military governor of Paris. Next, discover the picturesque Place Vendome and view the Ritz, the legendary hotel where Nazi leader Hermann Goring set up his headquarters during the war. Continue to the Le Marais district, the historic center of the Jewish community. Take time to view several memorials honoring the wartime plight of the Jews and their sympathizers. Revel in the beauty of the city aboard a Bateaux Parisiens Seine River Cruise. Continue to Herouville Saint Clair for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: NORMANDY— Spend a remarkable day experiencing and learning about one of the most famous days in history: D-Day. The morning starts with a visit to the Airborne Museum in Sainte Mere-Eglise. Quaint, quiet Sainte Mère-Eglise became involved in one of the greatest exploits in military history on the night of 5-6 June 1944 as D-Day began. The museum allows visitors to experience the events of D-Day alongside the American parachutists who were dropped all around the area and in the village itself. Next, travel to Saint Pierre du Mont, Calvados secured by Allied forces and then used as a combat airfield from June to September 1944. See the Pointe du Hoc Ranger Monument erected to honor the American Army Rangers who defied all odds by scaling a massive cliff at a critical moment during the invasion. Continue to the coastal village of Colleville sur Mer to see the American Cemetery of Normandy, a spectacular and emotional setting located on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach and the English Channel. Gaze at Omaha Beach, one of the principal beachheads where the U.S. Army stormed ashore on D-Day. Journey to Bayeux, the first town to be liberated from German control in June 1944. Return to Herouville Saint Clair for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: LA ROCHE GUYON/PARIS— Begin the day in the charming village of La Roche Guyon. The stunning castle, Chateau de La Roche Guyon, looms over the village on the bank of the River Seine. This chateau controlled the route to Normandy, making it a favorable choice for German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel’s headquarters during the Nazi occupation of France. After lunch, journey to Paris. Visit Les Invalides, the military museum of France with a vast collection of treasures from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
DAY 6: LUXEMBOURG— Leave Paris and journey to Luxembourg. Spend the afternoon enjoying the city of Luxembourg once known as the most formidable fortress in Europe. In your free time, you may choose to explore the vestiges of the fortifications, stroll through the city squares, or relax in one of the beautiful parks. Dinner and overnight in Luxembourg.
DAY 7: BASTOGNE/BRUSSELS— In the morning, travel to Bastogne, Belgium. View the Mardasson Memorial honoring the American soldiers who were wounded or killed during the Battle of the Bulge. Next, spend time at the Bastogne Barracks, headquarters of the Allied Forces during the Ardennes Offensive. The barracks are now a WWII interpretation center with large displays of armored tanks and exhibits showcasing elements of WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. In the afternoon, explore the area known as the Ardennes Offensive where the Battle of the Bulge took place. Continue to Brussels for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8: BRUGGE/DUNKIRK— Step back in time as you wander down the cobblestone streets and along the picturesque canals of Brugge, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. The looming Gothic architecture and the old market square truly transport you to another era. Proceed to Dunkirk where 330,000 French, British, Belgian, and Dutch soldiers were evacuated by civilian vessels following Germany’s advance into France in May 1940. Visit the Dunkirk War Museum located in Bastion 32 where the French and Allied forces set up headquarters during the Battle of Dunkirk. Meander through the vast number of artifacts left behind after the evacuation. The nearby beach displays a memorial to the Allied soldiers who sacrificed their lives during Operation Dynamo. Dinner and overnight in Brussels.
DAY 9: BRUSSELS/KINDERDIJK— The day begins with a sightseeing tour of Brussels, home of NATO headquarters. Be awestruck by the Grand Palace In the heart of the city and the center square dotted with stunning architecture. In the afternoon, begin the journey to Amsterdam. Stop at Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its iconic 18th-century windmills. As part of Holland’s water management system, the windmills sit among the scenic wetlands of Dordrecht combining provincial beauty with function. Experience the wonder of these fascinating windmills from the inside at Nederwaard Museum. Continue to Amsterdam for dinner and overnight.
DAY 10: AMSTERDAM—Enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Marvel at the elaborate canal system and the striking architecture of the captivating city. See the unassuming building where Anne Frank and her family were hidden during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Climb aboard a canal boat and experience Amsterdam’s unique ambiance from the water. After lunch, explore the city at your leisure. Dinner and overnight in Amsterdam.
DAY 11: ARNHEM— Journey to Arnhem, headquarters of the 1st Airborne Division during WWII. Visit the Airborne Museum dedicated to the Battle of Arnhem where the British 1st Airborne Division suffered a costly defeat against the German forces but were memorialized for their courage and fighting spirit. Immerse yourself in the struggle to secure the John Frost Bridge as the “Airborne Experience” brings the events of the Battle of Arnhem to life. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time before dinner. Dinner and overnight in Amsterdam.
DAY 12: AMSTERDAM/USA— Transfer to the airport in Amsterdam for your return flight to the USA as you savor the memories of your unforgettable experiences.

AIR: Includes roundtrip from departure city in the USA and return. Flights are subject to airline schedules and may change without notice. Upgrades can be requested after booking and are subject to availability from the airline. Seat selections are available only at check-in for most group bookings.
GROUND/TRANSFERS: Group will be met by a Signature Tours representative and transferred to the hotel. Land only passengers responsible for transportation to and from the airport/hotel.
HOTELS: Superior First Class hotels throughout. Priced on the basis of two persons sharing a room with a private bath and shower.
SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A limited number of single rooms are available at additional supplement prices. Signature Tours and/or the group leader will make every attempt to pair single participants requesting a roommate. However, the single supplement fee will be charged for each person occupying a single room, whether by choice or circumstances.
MEALS: Breakfast and dinner daily. Lunch is provided most days as noted in the itinerary. Other days, the cost is typically between $15 and $20 per lunch.
SIGHTSEEING: As and wherever indicated on the itinerary, including the services of English-speaking guides as well as entrance fees to all places of interest listed in your itinerary.
PORTERAGE: Fees and charges for the porterage of one piece of baggage per person not to exceed 50lbs, in connection with all transfers and at airports throughout the entire itinerary are included. In addition to one checked bag, each traveler is also allowed one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, book bag, or small backpack. SERVICE CHARGES AND TAXES: Service charges as required by hotel management and taxes as imposed by national and/or local governments and/or governments and/or administrations (wherever these are normally added to the bill.) on the date of this brochure are included.
OTHER: Tips, taxes, and airport taxes ARE INCLUDED in the selling price.
NOT INCLUDED: Excess baggage fees, passport fees, visa fees, items of a personal nature such as in-room service, laundry, etc., soft drinks, beverages that are not on the regular table menu. Any service not indicated in the itinerary and/or the above list of included features.
PASSPORTS: Passports must be valid and not expire at least six months or more from the return home date. If applicable, enter "RENEWING" or "APPLIED FOR" when completing registration.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: Vaccine and testing requirements are established by the destination country and/or transfer country. These policies are not set by Signature Tours or our subsidiaries. Signature Tours will make every effort to inform tour participants of health requirements, including vaccinations and testing for their respective destinations. However, participants are responsible for complying with current health requirements for their respective tour destinations. Health requirement changes from destination countries before, during, or after the registration process do not affect Signature Tours cancellation policy.
CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to sixty days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators, and hotels.
