DAILY ITINERARY

October 8 - 21, 2022


Day 1-2: TUPELO / ATLANTA / ISTANBUL / TEL-AVIV Our journey of a lifetime begins on Tuesday morning as we travel by bus from Tupelo to Atlanta. We fly Turkish Airways from Atlanta to Istanbul and then from Istanbul to Tel-Aviv. We arrive in Tel-Aviv Wednesday evening. Dinner and overnight in Natanya, a resort city on the Mediterranean Sea.

Day 3: ALL THE PAST YEARS WITH HISTORY We begin our visit to Israel exploring the ruins of Caesarea Maritima, the great city mentioned throughout the Book of Acts, including Herod’s Palace, the Roman Amphitheater, the ancient harbor and the Aqueducts. We continue to the top of Mt. Carmel to visit the site of Elijah’s battle with the prophets of Baal. In the afternoon, we travel to Megiddo, the location of Armageddon, the final battle of all mankind. If time permits, we will visit Nazareth, the boyhood hometown of Jesus. We conclude the day with a visit to Cana, the site where the first recorded miracle took place. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 4: THE GALILEE In the morning, we board a boat and cruise the Sea of the Galilee toward Capernaum. Upon landing, we visit Korazin, one of the three cities where Jesus performed most of his mighty miracles (Matthew 11). Later, we visit Capernaum, the home town of Jesus, including Peter’s House and the Synagogue where Jesus loved to teach. In the afternoon, we continue to Tagbha (the site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish) and Dalmanutha, where Jesus met the Disciples after the resurrection. We conclude the day with a special baptismal service in the Jordan River. Dinner and overnight at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee.

Day 5: THE UPPER GALILEE We begin the day with a visit to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus shared the Sermon on the Mount. From there, we travel north to the headquarters of the Jordan River and visit Tel Dan, Mt Hermon and Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus said, “Upon this rock I will build my church.”. IN the afternoon, time permitting, we will visit Magdala, the home of Mary Magdalene. We conclude our day with a walk on the “Gospel Trail”, walking the same ancient road that Jesus would have walked from Nazareth to Sea of Galilee. We return to our Hotel on the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight. Day 6: ALONG THE JORDAN VALLEY From Tiberias, we continue to Beit Shan, one of the Decapolis cities in the time of Jesus. Known for its connections with Saul in the Old Testament, excavations at Beit Shan have uncovered eighteen layers of civilization. The Roman Amphitheater is the best preserved in all of Israel. We precede along the Jordan Valley to Jericho, with a view of it the ancient walls that fell under Joshua’s conquest and a view of the Mount of Temptation where Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights. We continue to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: QUMRAN / MASADA / EN GEDI In the morning, we drive into the wilderness of Judea to visit Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to En Gedi where David hid from Saul. After stopping at the Dead Sea for a swim, we continue to Masada where the Zealots held the last foothold before they sacrificed their lives for their liberties. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8: JERUSALEM AND BETHLEHEM We begin on the Mount of Olives with its outstanding view of the city of Jerusalem. We visit Dominus Flevit (where Jesus wept over Jerusalem), and worship in the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Driving past the Kidron Valley, we head toward Bethlehem for a visit to the Church of the Nativity, the Shepherd’s Fields and the Fields of Boaz and Ruth. We conclude the day with .a visit to a model of ancient Jerusalem and the Shrine of the Book containing The Dead Sea Scrolls.

Day 9: HERODION / BETHANY /JERUSALEM Our day beings with a visit to Bethany, the home of Mary and Martha and a visit to the Tomb of Lazarus. We head to the Jewish Quarter in Jerusalem through David’s Gate and see the remains of Nehemiah’s Broad wall, the ancient Cardo leading through the city and enjoy a lunch in the heart of the Old City. In the afternoon, we visit Mount Zion, including the upper room of the Last Supper. We walk down the hill to the House of Caiaphas, where Jesus was questioned and imprisoned and see the same Roman steps that Jesus walked from Gethsemane on the night of his betrayal. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 10: WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS In the morning, we enter the old city through the Dung Gate and walk on the original temple stairs where Jesus spoke many times and taught his disciples. We pray at the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) and then explore the Western Wall Tunnel, walking along the same path that Jesus walked when he visited the Temple. In the afternoon, we will walk through the picturesque, colorful bazaars in the Old City, with time allowed to shop and explore. We return to our hotel for Dinner and overnight.

Day 11: JERUSALEM, THE HOLY CITY On our final day in Israel, we walk the Via Dolorosa through the Old City, beginning at The Lion’s Gate (Saint Stephen’s Gate). After visiting the Church of Saint Anne, the Pools of Bethesda, Lithostrotos (Pilate’s Judgment Hall), we follow the path of the Via Dolorosa through the Old City until we reach the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. At the end of this special day, we visit the Garden Tomb and Gordon’s Calvary, the possible site where Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected – highlighted by a special communion service at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and Overnight in Jerusalem

Day 12: TEL-AVIV / ISTANBUL / ATLANTA / TUPELO We transfer to the Ben Gurion airport for our return flight to Atlanta via Istanbul. We will arrive late night and continue home in our bus to Tupelo.

GROUND/TRANSFERS: The group will be met by a Signature Tours representative and transferred to the hotel. Land-only passengers are responsible for transportation to and from the airport/hotel.

HOTELS: Superior first-class hotels throughout. Priced based on two people per room with a private bath and shower.

SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: A limited number of single rooms are available at additional supplement prices. Signature Tours and/or the group leader will make every attempt to pair single participants requesting a roommate. However, the single supplement fee will be charged for each person occupying a single room, whether by choice or circumstance.

MEALS: Breakfast and dinner are provided at the hotel daily. Lunch is provided most days as noted in the itinerary. 

SIGHTSEEING: Entrance fees to all places of interest listed in the itinerary as well as an expert English-speaking guide.

PORTERAGE: See the carrier website for airline-specific baggage restrictions and requirements. Any fees for additional baggage beyond the standard airline allowance will be the responsibility of the individual. 

SERVICE CHARGES AND TAXES: Service charges added to the bill as required by hotel management. Taxes as imposed by national and/or local governments and/or administrations from the date listed on this brochure. Tips, taxes, and airport taxes ARE INCLUDED in the selling price.

PASSPORTS: Passports must be valid with an expiration date at least six months beyond the return home date of the tour. If you do not have a valid passport or need to renew your passport before the trip, enter "RENEWING" or "APPLIED FOR" when completing registration.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: Vaccine and testing requirements are established by the destination and/or transfer countries. These policies are not set by Signature Tours or our subsidiaries. Signature Tours will make every effort to inform tour participants of health requirements, including vaccinations and testing, for their respective destinations. However, participants are responsible for complying with current health, vaccine, and testing requirements for their tour destinations and return to the USA. Changes in health, vaccine, and/or testing requirements from the USA and destination countries before, during, or after the registration process do not affect the Signature Tours cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY: The $500 per person deposit is nonrefundable. Other payments exceeding the $500 per person are refundable in full up to sixty days prior to departure. After this date, refunds for unused accommodations and services will be limited to the amount received from and/or credited by all carriers, sightseeing operators, and hotels.
